Who is responsible

What is collected

We store what’s needed to run your account: your email address, your Google or Apple account details if you sign in with one of them, your settings, and what you save and practice on the site, such as saved words and your progress in flashcards and lessons. A session cookie keeps you signed in.

Signing in with Google

You can search the dictionary, read and listen without an account. Signing in with Google only lets you save words and keep your flashcard progress across devices.

What we use: your name, email address and profile picture from your Google Account, only to create your Nahuat.com account, show you're signed in and save your progress. We don't ask for, or have access to, your Gmail, Drive, Contacts, Calendar or any other Google data.

What we never do: sell or share your data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. Nahuat.com doesn't use Google data to create images and never generates images of people. Sexual content, including AI-generated intimate imagery of anyone, is not allowed anywhere on Nahuat.

Your control: you can delete your account and everything saved with it from your account page, or write to us and we'll delete it. You can also remove Nahuat's access at any time from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Nahuat's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How visits are counted

We use Google Analytics to count visits and learn which parts of the site are used. It sets cookies and records things like the pages you open, your approximate location and your device. It is not connected to your account and is not used for advertising.

You can opt out with Google’s add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. More on how Google handles this data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

The phone apps do not use Google Analytics. The daily reminder is scheduled by your phone, and nothing about it is sent to us.

Who else handles it

We rely on service providers to host the site, store accounts, send sign-in emails, receive our mail, protect the sign-in form from bots and tell us about errors on the site. They act on our instructions and do not receive your data to use for their own purposes.

Where, and for how long

Data is stored in the United States.

It is kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, all of it is deleted.

What you can ask for

You can ask for a copy of your data, for something wrong to be corrected, or for all of it to be deleted. Write to privacy@nahuat.com and you will get an answer.

If this changes

If something material changes, the date above changes. The project is under construction and this page is updated when the system is.
